Why education breaks poverty in Malaysia

13 Apr 2026 · Administrator

A look at the data, the stories, and the patient, generational work of building futures one student at a time.

Poverty is rarely about one missing thing. It is about a tangle of missing things — opportunity, role models, stability, time — that reinforce each other.

Education matters because it untangles. A student who finishes secondary school earns substantially more than one who does not. Their children, in turn, are far more likely to finish school themselves. That is the math behind generational change.

But this only happens with consistency. A scholarship for one year does not break a cycle; sustained support across the school journey does.
